Pilot's swim places are quickly reserved and get booked several seasons in advance.
You should book your pilot as soon as you know, and are sure you want to swim.
BUT: Make sure you are ready to commit yourself to the pilots terms and contract agreement

Our 2018 Swim season pilot fees for a 1-way swim attempt are £2900.
There is a £200 supliment if you want to be taken into a French port (usually Calais) at the
end of your swim. Normally we will return directly to Dover once the swim is completed.

All "booking fees, deposits" and swim balance payments that are made by you for our pilot
services are on a non refundable basis if you cancel your swim for any reason once you have
made a booking.
There is a booking fee (£500) to reserve a pilots place once you are ready to commit to a swim
reservation. This payment is credited to your swim account and is as part of your pilots fees.

Our pilot contracts are sent out at the end of October/beginning of November in the year
before your Channel swim for you to complete and return with your deposit by mid December.

NOTE:
Once you have completed you pilot reservation there are 2 different systems for the required
administration paperwork needed to register your swim with the British and Freanch authorities.

Wetsuit swims are registered through Pedro Boats UK/CS&PS
e-mail: csps.office@btinternet.com ------ Web site: www.channelswimming.net
Standard swims are registered through the CS&PF (Channel Swimming & Piloting Federation)
e-mail: office@cspf.co.uk ------ Web site: www.cspf.co.uk

We will direct you to the correct registration trail once you have returned you completed
pilot contract.

We can accept payments by: Bank transfers - Debit card - Credit card(+3% fee) - Cash - cheques

For English Channel Swims during the 2018 season our Pedro Boats UK / CSPS fees are:
£2900 for a 1-way crossing made up of:
£500 non returnable "Booking Fee" paid to confirm your reservation.
£1200 "Deposit" to be paid with the return of your completed pilots contract. (by mid December 2017)
£1400 swim "Balance" this has to be cleared into our account before the start of the swim

£5800 for a 2-way crossing:
£1000 non returnable "Booking Fee" on conformation of reservation
£2400 "Deposit" to be paid with the return of your completed pilots contract. (mid December 2017)
£2400 swim "Balance" has to be cleared into our account before the start of the swim

There is an additional fee of £200 if you wish to be taken to Calais at the end of your swim.

Multiple swim crossings of more than 2-way and other forms of crossings requiring our
escort services are by quotation.

Please read and fully understand the pilots contract information and terms before you
commit to any swim booking dates.
Agree with and to the terms and conditions offered for your swim place BEFORE you book
your swim place. The pilots contract is a legally binding agreement.
There are no refunds if you cancel for any reason.
Our pilots swim fee balance can be paid at any time but it must be settled in full and
cleared into our account before the start of the swim. All fees are paid in £ sterling.
-------------------------------------
How our booking system works.
We are booking swims with our 2 registered escort vessels 1/2 and 3 years ahead at the moment.
This allows swimmers to get the pilot they want on the tide they want with the option they
want to fit into what they think is the best swim position possible for them.

We book up to 4 swim places per each set of Neap tides and 2/3 swims each Spring for each
pilot boat. The tidal periods are split approximately into "Neap tide" & "Spring tide" periods
of around 7 to 8 days. (Tides and tidal periods are explained in the "General Info" pages).

The place number indicates the order in which you are offered a chance to swim -
Starting from number "1" on each tide, this is the first option to swim on the tide.
Should it be turned down for any reason the next person (number 2 position) will be offered
the chance to swim --- and so on down the list. The number "1" swimmer will be offered the
next available swim day for them to accept or decline.
Once we have offered the swimmer a swim position on their booked tidal our pilot contract
commitments are considered to have been forefilled.

The pilot reservations are a direct arrangement between the swimmer and the
owner/pilot over which no third party outside our businesses has any control.

Bookings will be reserved on payment of the "booking fee" and confirmed on the
return of the signed pilot contract with the deposit. (see the terms in the pilot contract)
All payments are made directly to the managing agent or pilotas per the office instructions.
The swim agreement/contract is always made between the swimmer and the pilot and are on
a "stand alone" basis for a English Channel crossing attempt.
There is no third party involvement in this agreement and transaction .

A written contract signed and returned to your pilot - with a copy kept by you - is the best
way to track and confirm your tide, your position and what you and your pilot have agreed
terms wise. Please read the contract carefully BEFORE entering into it and understand
fully the implications and commitment before signing it and returning it with your deposit.
